It is very difficult to find the right medication for horses,especially for race horse. The drugs taken should not affect horse's performance in the race. However it is not the end of the challenge ,after that getting the drug into horse mouth is one of the different matter altogether.

               Besides having to maneuver the 1,000 pound body to get a pill inside the horse's throat,one has to  deal with the possiblity of having that same pill spewed back at you in a less distinguishable form.Of couse, the chances of this happening depends on one's expertise at handling horses and experience at giving medication.

 All this different methods are fully ' tested and tried' but not foolproof.Giving medicine to a horse is just like coaxing a child, and this is also to think that all the methods will not work similar on all horse.

But if mixing the pill with grain applesauce or molasses does not do the job,one might revert to the age old syringe.To pump the fluid medicine is swalloed is definitely not a comfortable task.Strength and patiencen is required as the horse will make it easy.

Pets are definitely  like a close family member .Anyone who has ever had a pet go missing  only knows the pain  and anxiety  one feels when his pet is missing. . 

         Unfortunately we had to experience this a couple of years ago when Barney, our black labrador sneaked out through an open door.
       
          My daughter Martha was heartbroken and was very sad,as he was her real friend and her best companion.We visited many shelters and our neighbourhood too in search of him,begging people to call if they see him.
  weeks went by,and our hopes began to fade.we were still cheking the shelters and ,were still looking hopefully around nearby neighbourhood, but the chances of getting him back were becoming very less.,but still we ket on searching distant areas also
     
 Fortunetly we discovered him on the side of the road,a month and a half after he had gone missing.Some good samratian had been giving him food which kept him alive..............when we were near him he was v excited to see  Martha and kept on jumping and wagging his tail

 .we were too relieved to see him .It's been a couple of years now, but our daughter still has her best and real friend with her.He is really a wonderful companion.
    
We are thankful to that man who fed Barny and kept him alive.............

                                                                     DO you want to keep your dog off the furniture;-

If your dog gets in to the habit of laying on furniture, then it is very hard to correct.The best thing is to start early . Teach your puppy that the furniture is off limits!Few people may not mind this.......But many people may have some expensive furniture which they do not want ruined..
  
           Then what can you do to keep your pet away?
  * when your dog gets on the furniture ,gently take him off 
  * Make sure that your dog should have a comfortable bed
  * When he starts to follow your direction offer rewards and praise.
  * Do not leave your dog before the training is completed.
                     you should be strict with his training it is the most important thing.Do not allow your dog up on the furniture for any reason.

It happens often when we have to leave our dog alone at home for few hours,like when we need to go  shopping  or attend mass .
          
            dogs do not like to be left alone at home.Without training,it is very difficult to leave our dog lonely in the house.As they will feel very uncomfortable and anxious causing them not to realax and surely they will bark all the time.
  
               There is no way to tell them to stay at peace and relax while we are out,but it is possible to train them to keep themselves cool and minimize barking while we are away.
           we can give them something to chew like rawhides and chew bones,possibly which will divert their attention from being alone to being busy..Or if the dog has a rubber kong,we can also hide some biscuits there and let them work on getting the biscuits out of the kong,try to brush some peanut butter in the biscuits and let the peanut smell work its magic! Most dogs love peanut butter, its a great flavorful reward for them as they fight and fought in getting the biscuits for sure.

I would like to start it with an exercise to help you develop balance in your seat and your calf..The best way to feel proper leg position is to ride without stirrups.It may be unconfortable to ride without stirrups at first.And if it is unconfortable at 2nd 3rd time also it means you are not completely balanced in your seat.

when you will have perfect balance you would  enjoy riding more without stirrpus than with them.need not to be worried, with practice you will eventually be completely comfortable and dropping your stirrups regularly.the best way to get comfortable riding without stirrup is to practice and only practice

Start riding without stirrups at the halt, progress to the walk, jog, trot (post without stirrups too), the lope and or canter. If you are not comfortable walking a horse without your feet in the stirrups, then don't progress to the next gait until you feel 100% secure.

Riding bareback is always a great way to become more balanced, but for this exercise use your saddle. The reason  to use your saddle is because  you should  get comfortable balancing on your seat in the saddle.Just because you don't have your feet in the stirrups this isn't a get out of heels down free card, you need to work.

Always keep your calves next to your horse with your heels down.Dont be stiff and rigid or have spaghetti legs either.You are in close contact with your horse's sides so stay soft but not loose as you concentrate on feeling his movements.

7.Any food with caffeine or alcohol
8. Tomatoes and tomato plants,ingesting as little as one cherry tomato can cause severe gastrointestinal upset.

DEFINITION:-A cataract is an opacity that develops in the crystalline lens of the eye or in its envelope. Early on in the development of age-related cataract the power of the crystalline lens may be increased, causing near-sightedness (myopia), and the gradual yellowing and opacification of the lens ,but in humans are treated by simple day-case surgery whereby the lens is removed from the outer capsule and replaced by a clear plastic artificial lens.These operation are now being performing more in our companion animals too.

Causes of Cataracts:-
               The most common cause of cataract is the deterioration of the normal structure within the lens of the eye with age. There may be other causes like diabetes,steroid treatment,toxicity and infection are also the causes of that.

Why It affects vision:-
                       When we see, the rays of light from the object  pass through the transparent lens to be focussed on the retina. If the lens is cloudy, the image becomes distorted and cannot focus as well. Initially humans with cataracts see an image as increasingly fuzzy and vague, often with halos of light around objects. This increases over time to a level of blindness. We can assume that a similar gradual blindness develops in dogs affected by cataracts. 

This cloudiness in lenses occurs because of the disturbance of water content in lenses.
    It is natural for dogs to develop hardening (sclerosis) of the lens with the older age,but it doesn't indicate cataract.Treatment is not neccessary in that because it does not affect vision.

Treatment:- Treatments include surgery, anti-inflammatory eye drops, antioxidant supplements, and complementary therapies.

My friend Shaun lost his dog  Sheriyl yesterday ..

Sheriyl was a cute white pomeranian , extremely naughty and protective for her master .Noone could dare enter the house , she was so alert and watchful

She was not keeping well from last week .Yesterday i accompained myfriend to the vet .He checked her and said all is well but she needs to eat more as the RBC count in her blood was dropping .That was teh tough part ..there were only two things that she liked to eat , eggs and papapya .No matter what the heck you do she would not even look at anything else , No chicken , no milk ,no fish nothing.I feel that her eating habits became a hindrance to her recovery.

 

I had just come to the office today and logged on my pc when  Jack one of my colleagues informed that Shaun would be late as he had to take Sheriyl for cremation .I could not concentrate in my work after that .Shaun came after some time and started working ..All other days his arrival sends a wave of hysteria in our work stations but today he was different.

 

I wanted to speak to him but could not muster courage .What do you say to someone who has lost his child .For a dog lover , his dog is like his own child.Ironically not everyone can understand this and there are many who ridicule because for them "its just a dog ".I do not even want to make anyone understand ..How does it matter , anyway !!!

 

After some time , i just went to Shaun's desk and said "Please take care , I know its going to be difficult  but she will now becaome a guardian angel for you .Shaun was in tears and so was I

We all know Dog's are man's best and very staunch friend.They are the real friend and closest animal a human can ever have.They can be our playmates.They can protect us and our house.
  Even if you kick them out,they will be back to give you love . There are so many dogs who can earn for you also....Not being by a superstar or a circus artist but there are other so many ways by which athey can be your financial partner...
   
 Some days ago i saw something which surpris me .I would like to share that incident with you..
           

 I was passing by a roadside, I saw a dog with money basket in his mouth begging for money ,can you belive this?????? True for sure i am not kidding .....

Somebody may find it amusing,but that was  painful for me.
 
 The dog indeed was cute.I wanted to hug him,when i looked at him instantly.He was a pet and very trained too.He was  sitting there since the morning and he was still there in the exact position when i returned in the evening

    What do you think about this? This kind of highly trained dog deserved a quite better lifestyle,He works for long hours and yet his master was just sitting nearby waiting for his earnings.
           
I don't know what are you thinking right now?.It can be a mini dog begging show,but can you imagine what do these dogs get for their work?....

I really unable to understand the dog houses which people usally build in their backyards.

   It is well known that dog houses are quite popular,and very extravagent too.You should keep this always in mind that when you want to use heater to keep yourself warm,dog relies on its body heat to keep warm in the dog house.
  To keep your dog house out of wind, elevating it off the cold ground,to give them extra food, and to keep their bodies warm it is very important that the dog house should not be very big,otherewise your pet might not be able to stay warm...........
    

    THings to Remember:-
* The height of the door of your pet's house should be double of your dog's shoulder height.
* The length and breadth of the house shoould be equal.
* The height of the house should be atleast 25 percent taller.

I have a cute pet dog,his name is Limbo.:)

       I would definitely say that he is a real character,whenever we have company come for a weekend visit we warn our friends to not leave their luggage open because limbo will help himself to whatever strikes hi

If anyone forgets this warning and something comes up missing.we go to Limbo's toy box in the basement and there the treasure would be,amid all of Limbo's other favorite toys.He always keeps his finds in his toy box.

Few years ago,I found that i had brest cancer.someone told me that am going to die of this disease... In fact, I was just sure it was fatal.
The night before i was to go to the hospital i cuddled Limbo.

And I was struck with a thought....what would happen to Limbo? Although the three year old dog liked keith,but he was my dog through and through.if i die ,Limbo will be abandoned,I thought .He won't understand that i didn't want to leave him .The thought made me sadder than thinking of my own death.

The double mastectomy was harder on me than my doctors had thought,and i was hospitalized for over two weeks.My husband used to took him for his evening walk faithfully.but little dog was in dilema to find out me.

Finally the day came for me to leave the hospital.when i arrived home, i was so exhausted i couldn't even make it up the steps to my bedroom.my husband made me comfortable on the couch and left me to nap.Limbo stood watching me but he didn't come to me when i called .It made me sad but sleep soon overcame me and i dozed.

When i woke up for a second i couldn't understand what was wrong.I couldn't move my head and my body felt heavy and hot. But panic soon gave way to laughter when i realized the problem.I was covered, literally blanketed,with every treasure Limbo owned!

while i had slept, the sorrowing dog had made trip after trip to the basement brining his beloved mistress all his favorite things in life. He had covered her with his love.

I forgot about dying.Instead i and lucky began living again,walking further and further together every day.It's has been years now and I am still cancer-free. Limbo? He stills steals treasures and stashes them in his toy box but i remain his greatest treasure.

                                                                       Training tips for your labrador

                 Given a choice,Everyone would want to have a dependable and obedient labrador. It is only through proper training that we can enjoy having a disciplined labrador as an additional member of our family.They can be quite problematic if not trained properly,Even though their reputation is of a very mellow pet.Below are some tips for the owners :-   

             1. The start-up of the training must be very early,it is about a week or two after a puppy is born.This early training does not include training the basic commands such as up, down and so on. Training at this stage should focus on simple associations and later on socialization.

           2. At the age of around eight weeks,they can start learning the basic obedience commands such as sit,up-down ,we can also taught other tricks but it depends on dog's stamina,concentration and physical coordination.

          3.Communication is the best tool which can help owners with their dog training.It is totally the owner's responsibility to communicate to the dog what behaviors are correct or acceptable and what should be avoided.If we will not communicate with the dog,it will be very difficult to understand that whether the dog is happy ,confused, or nervous.which is very important.

                 As there are various methods for dog's training ,the most used is the positive training method.Which means,using reward to increase good behavior ,or punishing a dog in the hope of decreasing bad behavior.

                                                                          Disciplining your dogs

                            There are some esay steps to eliminate digging in forbidden locations;-
       
           1.First try to eliminate free access to the area wher your dog has been digging.
2.You can give your dog a DIG-PIT,and can creat sand-box for your dog. Take them to this area and encourage them to dig. play in the sand with them in this location.
3.Allow access to the problem area with Supervision,and when your dog strats to dig inappropriately, gently guide them to their digging area.
4.After your dog starts using their new Dig-pit on their own,interrupt any digging in innapropriate places with a time-out.Don't forget that dogs like to dig in cool, damp locations. Try to make you doggie Dig Pit a fun place to be, not a hot, dry sunny dust bath..

                       One day, early in the morning I was getting ready for my office,suddenly i heard a terrible noise,I looked at the road, i saw  a group of almost four or five people.
   
 They were looking at a a dustbin on the side of the road.A pig had fallen in that dustbin in search of food and was unable to come out of it.
 
   Unfortunetly the pig was caught by a stary dog.The neck of the pig was in the mouth of the dog, as the dog started penetrating his teeth in the neck of pig his screaming increased.
  
when I saw this without waiting for a moment ,I rushed to the dustbin with a thick stick in my hand and hit the dog with that. The  Dog ran away. After a minute or so the pig gathered his strength and jumped out of the bin and ran away as fast as he could.
   I breathed  a sigh of relief to see him safe,but also i was angry as no one else had taken an initiative to shoo the dog away. I was sad to see the attitude of people for pigs.....

       The main reason of the skin problem is poor nutrition.So it would be very good if you will start it by changing your pet's diet.Try to decide it by consulting your vet.

           Most of us think that anaconda snakes are habituated man-eaters.Anacondas are known to attack humans only when harmed or startled.
        We feel that all anaconda snakes are gigantic more than fifty feet in length and weight  more than two hundred kilograms each.But th truth is,these snakes grow up to thirty-five feet at the maximum , and do not genrally cross one hundred and fifty kilos when weighed.
           Another interesting fact is the physical superiority of females over males. As a matter of fact, female anacondas have known to grow as much as five times longer and heavier than its male counterparts. This is probably one of the extreme cases on physical disparity between two sexes of the same species.

The most important key for healthy ears is to keep them clean.

                       People think cats can not be trained like dogs.cats are incredibly intelligent animals that can be trained towards developing good habits.
             Most of the cats don't require a lot of instruction or guidance. Cats are quite self-sufficient.Cat training is quite worth doing as it will be good for the health and safety of both cat and the owner.
        There are a few cardinal rules in doing cats training rather than to follow any standard procedure.The first is that the cat should be rewarded when they obey the command. by using the Cat's natural preferences to induce the cat to the desired goal will prove to be helpful.The second rule is to not let damage the bond of trust between cat and owner.Definitely cat training would strengthen bond between you and your cat .And according to the third rule, owner need  to consult with a vet.

Dogs which  belong to families of one race or social class sometimes act aggressively towards people of other races or social class, either due to lack of exposure or their human families' own hostility towards other social class or ethnic group.

Age discrimation?

some dogs especially females are protective of children while others dislike them. ,
The solution is simple. we should try to expose your dog to positive experiences with children.

With that said, it's not one-size-fits-all solution. Dogs are individuals.

I have 2 cats, The oldest is Tatty princess- A short hair tabby, who is 2 years old, overall she is a sweet cat, yet she doesn't like people, children or other cats, am I'm Quite sure that she hates dogs. but she is a sweet cat really or at least she can be when she takes to you. I've had her since she was 8 weeks old, she was so tiny back then and now she is all grown up. Austin- A long haired tabby is one year old and I've had him since he was 5 weeks old, I have always felt that the Lady who gave him to me, gave him to me way too early she should have waited three more weeks because he would nurse on anything he could find- cloths, blankets, towels, ect. and yes I know that is bad vary bad and believe me I tried to discourage him from it but thankfully He doesn't anymore or at least I haven't seen him do it any more. a few months ago Austin got deathly sick he had a really bad fever, he was heaving, it was awful. I wasn't sure that he was going to make it. the Vet gave me some medicine for him and by the grace of God he came through it and now he is well. tatty hasn't took too kindly to Austin and she resents me a little bit for getting a second cat, I was upset at first because the first 2 months of having Austin, Tatty would not come into the house and I had to allow her to live in my shed for awhile but when it started getting cold, really cold, Tatty must have figured that it would be a good time to remove that chip from her shoulder and come into the house where it's warm. A year later she still doesn't like Austin but she'll tolerate him. I think they have an understanding. But in all fairness to Tatty, she was here first and for one year had me all to herself and now she has to share me with this intruder cat. And Austin being Austin the terror Kitten would pick on Tatty a little bit, but he knows better now. I Love both of my cats and give them equal affection because contrary to what people might think of cats, they are an affectionate and sensitive animal. However I'll have to give Tatty a little bit more of TLC so she knows that there is no reason to be jealous. But these things will work out because they have so far.

                                                       GOLDEN RETRIVER

The species of golden retrievers are very easy to train . These dogs are always eager to learn,that is why they are known as the friendliest dogs.We can also use them for hunting.They are known for there patience .This was bred in England during the 1800s,.

        This species has many shades,from blond to deep red.This  breed weighs from 55-75 ponds.
   Below are some advantages to have a golden retriver;-

 1. Golden retrivers are atheletics.

 2.They are not hard to train infact they love to learn.

 3.These dogs are friendly and gentle.genrally they love people and other animals.

 4.Golden retrivers are very cute and beautiful.

 5.They are happy in colder climates. They love water, including rolling, swimming and playing in it. They also love snow and don't get cold too easily.

  AND now i would like to discuss some disadvantages of having them as our pet:-
 
 1. If they do not get enough exercise they become irritable.This is the worst problem  of this breed.
 
 2.Golden retrivers are terrible watchdogs.Although a golden might bark at a stranger, he is more likely to make friends with everyone.
 
 3.They require regular brushing,and this species sheds throughout the year.Also they easily overheat,which is the one reason of there love for water.

 4.Some issues of health are common with golden retrivers.
   

   They just look so wise and understanding. It's not a surprise that so many people love them.

 
 

MY NEW PUPPY,

        It is both a great pleasure and relax for all animal lovers to hug a little puppy ....
   A little puppy never fails to lighten the heart of any animal lover..your feeling of love for a cute puppy deepens as you realize it        needs you just as much as an infant does...It is very easy to fit a puppy in to your lifestyle and environment.
    The charecter of being gentle and carring can be instilled into your children by showing them how gentle and carring your are for the puppy. To develop wonderful memories of growing up with a young dog is a rare treat for your children.you now have the opportunity to train the puppy.puppies have the strong desire to chew on things so be sure to give them suitable bite to bite on rather than leaving your desinger shoes at the doorstep.

 Things To Remember.

1 Never send your puppy to a dog hostel.Atleast one member of the family should stay with puppy.
2.The puppy should not be pampered.Good eating habits should be developed right from the beginning.
3.Puppy should be given a proper place to sleep, proper bowl to eat and proper place to play.
4.Puppy should be taken for a proper walks.
5. Try to gather as much information about puppies breed.

               Less than 100 species of frogs are found in United States and Canada ,In all there are 4000 species in this world.

Do your know there is some basic difference between frogs and toads i.e frogs skin is smooth,they have long legs, while toads have shorts legs and rough skin.
 
The smallest frog is found in cuba, and the largest frog is found in West Africa the smallest one is about 12mm and the largest one is about 300mm long.
         Frogs lay egg in wet area. For example, red eyed tree frog laid their eggs on leaves that are above the water, so that tadpoles can drop into water when the eggs hatch.
    
Frogs do drink water.Their skin absorbs water for the body. Frogs are colourful. Frogs adapt to the environment with their colour matching the surrounding to protect themselves from predators. There are some frogs which lays only few eggs but there are somewhich  can lay up to thousands of eggs.

  You can recall your childhood for that,when you use to be afraid about your mistakes ,and then you tried hard to hide them. Birds do that too,when a bird is afraid.and will try to unnoticed.and they will stare straight ahead, without blinking. and try to show the they dont know that you are there,they keep there wings close to there body,and stand perfectly still,hopicng you won't notice them.

         An angry bird will  stand in an attack position, all puffed up and leaning forward. He'll probably also weave from left to right. He'll be just as noisy as an excited bird.

my dog Maxi is not lazy but now a days i am unable to guess what exactly. She is thinking.
when i call him for walk she tries to avoid me.even when there is someone on the door she doesnt bark.i think she is jealous.It is because of Rays the new American Pit Bull Terrier puppy which i have  bought recently.....
May be, i am the reason for her jealousy,may be  i am giving more attention to the new one.
As this is my mistake so i need to do something about it.so that i could  find her again as she was earliar...

 "Designer" animals -- which are nothing but mutts. Worse, they are dangerous hybrids that nature never intended. Making up breeds to fit human whims is revolting enough, but to provide a free advertisement for this sort of business, as well as encouraging others to take up this sort of "breeding" because of the potential profits, is truly unconscionable.

At the very least, this story would have benefited from the other side of the story. Perhaps the large-cat rescuers who are asked to take in these animals when they "go wild" or have the inevitable health problems that come with this sort of irresponsible breeding.

Or maybe the Humane Society, which is forced to euthanize hundreds of animals each year, might be able to offer some perspective on the inherent cruelty of breeding designer pets. And to make light of the illegality of these animals in some areas of the country -- and point out that this family knowingly sells these cats to New Yorkers despite the fact they are illegal in their state? Astonishing.
